Art from the Heart: A Community of Artists Helps a Community in Need
On Sunday, November 2nd, the non-profit Southampton Artists Association (SAA) will once again host an exhibit and reception to benefit Heart of the Hamptons.
Last year, the SAA raised enough money to provide more than 2,500 meals for those in need. We are so grateful to SAA for their support and hope you can join us in supporting these caring artists as they help us continue to support our most vulnerable neighbors. We are coming in to our most busiest season with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the loss of seasonal work. Already this year, we have given out more than 500,000 meals worth of groceries to local families struggling to make ends meet.
For this special event, SAA members are offering 10″ by 10″ works of art, both paintings and photographs, to be sold at $200 each, with 50% of the proceeds going to Heart of the Hamptons and 50% directly to the artist.
The SAA, comprising painters, photographers, sculptors, and multimedia artists, comes together several times a year to exhibit their work at the Levitas Art Gallery in the Southampton Cultural Center. For over 40 years, this organization has offered a place to nurture and support creative minds. These Suffolk County residents, bring to the table a wide variety of professional backgrounds and life experiences. This grassroots organization welcomes all and encourages members to hone their skills, exchange ideas, and inspire one another.
We hope you will join us on Sunday for a free reception and purchase a piece of beautiful art to help us continue to care for children, families, seniors, and veterans in our community.
