Help us ensure no child goes hungry this summer so we can send them back to school healthy, happy, and prepared for the new year ahead!

For many kids, summer is something to look forward to. But for a lot of the children we serve, it can be a time of loneliness and uncertainty. Kids are missing the school meals they depend on, and parents are busy working. The high cost of camps and lack of transportation often means low-income families cannot participate. With your support, Heart of the Hamptons allows local kids to enjoy their summer break without having to worry about hunger and to prepare for the school year ahead through our two critical programs, Lunchbox Kids and Backpack Kids.

A child’s chance for a bright tomorrow starts with getting enough food to eat today. With over 50% of children in all local schools relying on free school meals, our community depends on our Lunchbox Kids program to ensure no child is left hungry. Each month we feed almost 600 children. In the past year, we provided 123,641 meals worth of food to children in our community. Over weekends, each school break, and all summer, we provide additional healthy meals just for kids. Children who don’t get enough to eat start life at a serious disadvantage.

The need goes beyond guaranteeing our children are well-nourished throughout the summer. As part of our Backpack Kids programming, we also give low-income families the opportunity to send their children to fun summer camps. Keeping kids busy and engaged all summer enables young and bright students to transition back to school smoothly, setting them up for greater success, health, and happiness throughout the school year. To start school off right, we provide backpacks, clothing, new shoes, gift cards, and all the crucial supplies necessary to thrive.

We work closely with school support staff to aid our most vulnerable families to cover any need they cannot meet for their school-age children. In 2022, we hosted our first-ever Back-to-School Bash and invited our clients to drop off their children to enjoy a delicious breakfast, play fun games, do an art project, receive a new haircut, and pack their own backpacks with all the supplies they will need for a successful new school year.

More than ever, we need your help to feed, clothe, and provide daily essentials to the children in our community. Will you help us raise $50,000 to support Lunchbox Kids and Backpack Kids?

This is not something that can be done without you. With heartfelt appreciation, thank you for believing in the future of our kids.
