As the holidays approach, we thank YOU for your unwavering generosity this year and every year. Responding to COVID-19 has been a challenge, but thanks to your support, we have been able to meet the overwhelming increase in demand for our services. With two months remaining in 2020, we continue to need your help.
The fall and winter months are normally our busiest time, as seasonal work slows down and utility bills spike. This year, we predict our food pantry and assistance services will be needed more than ever. During the holidays, we hope to provide registered households with all the trimmings for a festive holiday meal, including a turkey, fresh produce and non-perishables. Every dollar donated will directly impact those in need.
Our caring community continues to be the driving force behind Heart of the Hamptons. Together, we have accomplished so much. In a matter of months, our food pantry distribution numbers increased by 300% and we welcomed 801 new families to our food pantry, bringing us to a total of 1,088 registered households. Further, we successfully distributed over 150,000 meals by mid-October, compared to 48,000 last year.
This year, our goal is to raise $75,000 to support our new and old families during the upcoming holidays. In this season of giving, we invite you to join us in our mission of helping our neighbors. Whether you donate money, time or services, we thank you for your continued support.
Wishing you and your loved ones health and happiness this holiday season.
With deepest gratitude,
Heart of the Hamptons
